Who We Are?

About

We are an IDPA club located in Fort Meade Florida. Our matches are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month. We welcome shooters of all skill levels to come out and compete in a safe controlled environment. If you are new to IDPA, please view the videos on our Media page and arrive no later than 8:00 am. A new shooter orientation class will be held near the conex at 8:30 am.

If you plan on attending on a regular basis, please consider joining the ( IDPA ) International Defensive Pistol Association. You may also want to join the Lakeland Defensive Pistol Club to receive a reduction in your monthly match fee. Competing in IDPA is a lot more fun than going to a public range and dumping expensive ammo at a static target. Put your skills to the test and join us for our next match.

    Club President:  Chris Costine


A lifelong Polk County native, I was born and raised in the Kathleen / Socrum area. I retired as a Lieutenant from the Polk County Fire Department, after 25 years of service, in Dec. 2010, and as Fire Chief of the City of Lake Alfred Fire Department in Feb 2020, after 13 years of service, nine of which as chief. From 1999 to 2008 I was an Auxiliary Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol. This is where I was first exposed to defensive pistol shooting. I also served as the Secretary / Treasurer for the Polk County Fire Chiefs Association for several years until my retirement. For about a year of the time I spent as Secretary / treasurer, I also filled the roles of the President and Vice President as there were several retirements in the fire service in Polk County. I started in IDPA and the Lakeland Defensive Pistol Club in August 2018 in the SSP division, I have been shooting in CCP since October 2019. I have aspirations to shoot in BUG and PCC. I look forward to serving as the President of the Lakeland Defensive Pistol Club.

Match Director: Ryan Hand 

         
IDPA member since 2012 and Match Director of LDPC since 2015 and the Florida State IDPA Championship since 2021. Master in ESP/CCP divisions. Father of five (2 active duty military and 1 LEO). Eagle Scout and former Certified Flight Instructor.  When you don’t see me on the range, I’m probably mountain biking. Favorite restaurant is Mission BBQ.  Works for CDW in IT Sales/Consulting since 1996.
 

Club Treasurer: Jon Cezar

Born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and live in Kathleen area. I have worked for Headley Insurance Agency for the last 14 years as an Agent/Sales Manager, Married and have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. IDPA begin for me when a few guys at church which knew I enjoyed shooting invited me to a local match, I fell in love with the competitive side of shooting and have been doing it since 2015. Expert in CCP but now working on my bump in my new favorite division, Carry optics. I enjoy spending time with family, cooking, and hunting.
